Popularity of Diamond Solitaire Rings
Diamond solitaire rings are the most popular type of engagement rings. A single diamond set in the middle of a gold band makes a stunning statement of love. The larger the diamond, the more it stands out, but it also more expensive. The Prong SettingThere are different diamond settings for diamonds in rings, earrings, bracelets and brooches. The prong setting is most often used for solitaire diamond rings with the diamond inserted between three or more prongs that form a basket to hold the stone. The prongs used in a diamond solitaire ring should not be so large as to overpower and hide the diamond, yet they should not be too short either. Flat prongs tend to wear away easier, making the loss of the stone a possibility.
